4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi
This 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari and Lake Bunyonyi Tour is the perfect package for a
short Uganda gorilla trek experience coupled with an excursion. This safari rewards you
an experience of Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and a birding plus canoeing experience along
the magical views of Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1; Drive to Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast, you will leave Kampala and Drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is found in Kabale
region commonly referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. En route you will have a stopover
at the Equator for photographs and also stand a chance to see the area which separates both
the Southern and Northern Hemispheres.
Have another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch after which you will continue to Lake Bunyonyi
which is the deepest lake in Uganda and situated close to the borders of Uganda and Rwanda. On a
bright day you might see the magnificent volcano of Mount Muhavura.
Day 2; Canoe Ride and Drive to Bwindi National Park.
After breakfast, you will set out for the hired canoe and travel around
the surroundings from the water surface as you search for different bird
species on the 37 Islands of the Lake. Later return to the Lodge for lunch
and in the afternoon, you will Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park which is
one of the world’s Heritage sites and famously known for the gorilla trek activity.
Encountering the mountain Gorillas in the wild is a truly humbling and emotional experience, one that you are sure to remember for the rest of your life.

Day 3; Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Early morning after breakfast, you will go for the Gorilla briefing
from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will be given a guideline booklet
which you will go through and know how you have to behave while in the forest
with or near the Gorillas. Bwindi Rain forest is so spectacular and it offers a
dramatic steeply forested landscape which is incredibly dense, crisscrossed by
numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists to see the Gorillas.
Besides Mountain Gorillas, other mammals in the forest include the rare
golden monkey, buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard,
giant forest hog and a lot of bird species. You are reminded to take with you
your packed Lunch and water because the time taken to see the Gorillas varies
according to the movements of the Gorillas. The experience got from seeing the
Gorillas is so exciting and unforgettable. Return back to your lodge for refreshments and so on.
(The time of the whole activity depends on where the Gorillas had their previous night since they are animals in their wild)
In the afternoon, go for a nature walk or go for the Batwa cultural Experience. The Batwa Experience is highly recommended given that your
trip will contribute to the well-being of the Batwa, former inhabitants of the Bwindi Forest. (The activity is booked in advance)
You will have packed Lunch
Day 4; Return to Kampala.
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch.
